Abstract Work

There’s nothing less real than realism
— Georgia O’Keeffe

Sure, I love to paint pretty landscapes, old adobes, flowers and little animals. But I love digging around in my head best of all and that’s just what abstract painting does best. When I first began to paint abstractly, I’d often step back from a painting and think, “Where did THAT come from?” These days, however, I begin to see the connection between my unconscious and my hand much more quickly.
